This year Miss Universe will wear a new crown valued at about $300000 and weighs 411 grams. The new crown has 5 large light blue topaz stones similar to Miss World crown which also has sea green and Blue stones. Also it has 33 natural translucent and colorless Bohemian crystals, 198 dark blue sapphire stones and encrusted with 311 small polished diamonds. The base consists of 2 cm 18KT white gold strip.

DIC is the sponsor of the new crown. It resembles the skyline of New York City, Base of Miss Universe Organization. It seems that it has not been received well by the fans who are saying that it is not as good as the previous ones.
